EIGHTH DESIRE β VIDEO
[The feed opens to Ryuunosuke wearing a very puffy coat; apparently he's not too fond of the cold at all. He appears to be in the Pokémon Center (Goldenrod's, to be specific), with an Absol curled up at his feet. He grins at the camera, though he doesn't look anywhere near as peppy as usual.]
I guess some of you guys are probably going through the same thing I am. I really miss Fuyuki City and the people I knew back home. I mean, don't get me wrong, this world is pretty great, but the holidays are a time to spend with friends and family. It feels weird spending the time away from home.
[...What is he going on about now? This is a bit of an odd topic, considering Ryuunosuke murdered his entire family.]
I've never really liked the holidays, actually. I like getting gifts, sure, who doesn't? But picking out the perfect gifts is always such a hassle.
[He leans on his knees, propping his chin on one hand. There's a bright red mark visible on the back of his right hand. It looks like it might be some sort of tattoo. It's not a new addition by any means, but there are a few people here that might recognize it.]
How do you guys go about picking out the perfect gift for people? And I've got another question too - who here's from Fuyuki? Anyone? How about Japan?
[The Absol stirs at his feet and Ryuunosuke glances down at her.]
...I guess giving people Pokémon would be too predictable, huh?

[Well, that's not entirely a lie! He didn't think the summoning would actually work, but he gets the feeling that isn't the right thing to say.]
So you summoned someone to fight for you as well? Are they here?
[text / private]
That just raises the question of what you "meant to do"...
[orz]
As for my own Servant, I don't believe them to be. They were, but we didn't speak. I suppose you could say we weren't on good terms; we didn't agree on many things.
Yourself?
[text / private]
Really? I would've thought all Masters and Servants got along pretty well. Mine was here for a little while, but unfortunately he left.
[ >: ]
[text / private]
Although it sounds as though you were fond of yours...?
[text / private]
I get what you're saying, but since the summoning was accidental, I guess the war wasn't as big of a deal to me.
If I may ask, what are you going to wish for if you win?
[text / private]
Something that my family has wanted since the first Grail War; something it's fallen upon me to obtain.
Might I ask you the same question?
[text / private]
And I can understand living up to your family's expectations, but is that what you want? Or is it just what's expected of you?
[text / private]
I'm...sorry? I want to fulfill my family's expectations; I don't see how this wouldn't be what I want.
[text / private]
Well, it sounds like something your parents kind of forced on you. I wouldn't put up with that. But to each their own! If that's what you want, then I'm sure you'll fight your hardest for it.
[text / private]
[his body was not ready for this conversation tbh]
[text / private]
I'm my own person. I don't want my future set for me by my parents. I guess it sounds pretty ungrateful - and to be fair, my parents did a pretty good job - but if they were trying to force me to do something like this, something that would put my life on the line, I'd run the opposite way. It just doesn't seem fair that you have to do what they wanted you to do, especially if you don't get a choice in it. I mean, I might be wrong, but it sounds like you didn't have much of a choice in what you get to do with your life. It's just really unfair, in my opinion.
[text / private]
At the same time, there isn't really a way he can think of to reply to that that isn't...um.]
That's just how things are.
[...facepalm-worthy.]

[oh goddddddddd this is awkward - ]
Another question for you, then - might I know what year it is for you, back in Fuyuki City? I can assure you that it's not a random question.
[text / private]
It's 1993. Why?
[text / private]
Curiosity as to which Grail War you arrived from; for all I knew, it was a different one entirely. It isn't a one-time occurrence, and a second one seems to have happened much sooner than we could have anticipated.
It seems that we are opponents, then - however, the situation that makes us such aren't present here. I see no harm in continuing to speak to you on civil terms, should you be willing.
[text / private]
That sounds great! I'm not really interested in picking fights with anyone here.
[Ryuunosuke, could you lie even harder if you tried?]
Is there anyone else from back home here? I haven't seen anyone I know, but it would be nice to meet some more people from Fuyuki!
[text / private]
Several have come and gone, in my experience; if there are others, they'll possibly make themselves known to you, as I did. I don't really know how many are left, however, if any - as I said, a second War broke out shortly after the one we're fighting; most of the others I've met have been from that War, not ours.

[text / private]
They know. And yes, they did.
[text / private]
And? Who won?
[text / private]
Your name wasn't mentioned among those who survived, however.
[text / private]
[There's no delay in the text or anything; he's obviously really laid-back about this.]
Do you know what happened then? What about you? Did you make it out alive at least?
[text / private]
what does he do with this knowledge]
...I doubt it. My student, on the other hand, seems to have survived; this is comfort enough.
