[Still, there's some relief coming across the crystal, alright. He's bad at this friendship thing...]
Well, you don't have to worry about it with me, alright? I wouldn't care if you called me by first name without any honorifics, but I guess I'm pretty laid-back about that kinda stuff.
Ahh... I couldn't sleep, it happens sometimes. This place is a lot quieter than what I'm used to; it makes it hard once in a while. Nothing to worry about, of course - just enough to make me want company for a while, and you tend to be good for that.
[Huh, well that's weird. Ryuunosuke considers asking about it for a moment before deciding against it. Maybe Tsukiyama's out for a walk or something.]
Well, that depends on what you're asking about. Like... Fuyuki itself? It was a super-boring city. The others I lived in weren't interesting either though, so I guess my world in general is just sort of boring outside of the magical stuff.
As for life in general? Just as boring! When I wasn't uh... you know. Having fun with my hobbies. I worked whatever jobs I could get that were short-term so I could do whatever I wanted otherwise. Everything was getting pretty dull - hobbies included - before the demon summoning thing.
I can go into specifics, if you want? I'm not really sure what you're interested in hearing about.
[He's honestly not terribly surprised by it, if a little weirded out; boredom seems like just as good a reason as any to start with the whole killing thing, if you ask him. At the same time...]
Might I ask how you started? With your hobbies, I mean. What made you decide that was a good idea, who you started with...that sort of thing.
Oh. It's not really all that interesting of a story. I'd thought about it a lot and then it just sort of... happened. Believe it or not, I actually hadn't meant for it to happen! But it did and I enjoyed it, so.
[It's kind of difficult to talk about this when he can't see Tsukiyama's reactions, but as far as Ryuunosuke's concerned, that really is all there is to it.]
[And there's a pause once that's out there; it doesn't seem like he's troubled or anything, though, at least if the emotions coming through the crystal are anything to judge by - those remain steady, the usual warmth he tends to offer not fading any.]
...I was a teenager when I started. It was...intentional, on my part, something I'd wanted to do for a while.
[...]
How many I tend to do depends on my mood. I'm not as prolific as some people I've heard about, but I'll usually do two or three a month. Sometimes more, if I'm not well.
[And there's another pause there, though again, it doesn't seem like anything bad. Just deliberating.]
Once in a while I start feeling like I need to. I'll do it then. It's easy to cover up here, far moreso than it was in Tokyo, but at the same time I don't want to risk anything.
Yeah, I know. I mean, I've done it a couple of times, but I always feel like I'm going to get caught? I never worried too much about that back home. I guess that's because I knew Fuyuki like the back of my hand.
...Hey, next time you're feeling like that, can I come with? I won't interrupt or anything! I mean, unless you want me to? I just want to see you work.
Ahhh...unfortunately, I prefer to work alone. With no intended offense to you, of course! It's just far easier to ensure that no one gets caught if we don't have to worry about anyone else, n'est-ce pas?
There's not really much to discuss... It's nice to know that time doesn't pass back home while we're here and all, but that doesn't mean I don't still think about my family from time to time. And it is nicer here than it was in Tokyo - objectively, it's much better, actually, near-apocalypses aside. But Tokyo was familiar in ways that Verens isn't.
It's all things like that; again, nothing to worry about.
[The crystal is feeling a bit strange, though; nothing aggressively negative, but it's definitely gone muted in a way that his messages usually don't.]
[Well, he can't say he understands, not really. This place is better than Fuyuki too, but that's because Fuyuki is boring. He can't say he misses it at all, though he at least understands the desire for something familiar.]
Well, I can't say I totally get it, but I think I can see where you're coming from. You won't be missing out on anything back home, but you're still here alone. It doesn't matter how many people you meet here, you can't replace them, right?
[He doesn't need the confirmation on that one, at least?]
...I'm really sorry, Tsukiyama. I'm still kind of a work-in-progress when it comes to sympathy and stuff, but I really do mean it.
You don't have to dismiss it like that if you don't want to. I don't mind listening. But if you don't want to talk about it, I'm not going to make you.
[The crystal is still warm, though it's lacking the excitement. There is some intensity there that can probably be summed up as "Ryuunosuke is trying really hard" so there's that.]
No, no, it's all right! I promise, it is. It's just something I think about from time to time, that's all; I wrote to Daimonia a while ago and talked about it a bit, that's probably what set it off.
[...]
Well, that, and I'm not...entirely alone here - there's someone I recognize, we're just...well, we don't get along particularly well, unfortunately enough.
no subject
Well, yes, of course we are.
[And there's no hesitation when he says it, either.]
I'm like that with everyone, I suppose; old habits die hard.

[well guess what we're never doing!]
Either way, though. You're doing well this evening...?
no subject
Yeah, I am! Nothing's going on over here, but that's better than apathy or being too wound-up to sit still, so! What's up with you?
no subject
no subject
[It's not like he was doing anything, so that's always fine.]
no subject
[And that...seems to be all he's saying about that for the time being.]
...What were things like for you, back in Fuyuki? You said that you had some, ah, difficulties with people, but otherwise...?
no subject
Well, that depends on what you're asking about. Like... Fuyuki itself? It was a super-boring city. The others I lived in weren't interesting either though, so I guess my world in general is just sort of boring outside of the magical stuff.

no subject
[There's nothing coming across the crystal, give him a second.]
You do the same thing? No way, you didn't tell me? Well, I guess maybe you thought you couldn't trust me?
[He sounds a bit confused, but there's nothing negative at all there. It's a lot of excitement, actually.]
I knew you were cool, Tsukiyama! I just didn't figure for this! Two or three a month though, that's... wow. That's really impressive.
So have you... y'know. Kept it up here?
no subject
[And there's another pause there, though again, it doesn't seem like anything bad. Just deliberating.]

[There's no concealing the disappointment there, but he tries to brighten immediately.]
Still, it's really cool that you do the same thing! You'll have to tell me more about it sometime!

Come by next week, maybe.

[That sure is a lot of warmth and excitement coming across the crystal, alright.]
...Hey, Tsukiyama? Why'd you decide to tell me now?

I've been thinking about home a lot, I suppose.
no subject
[Most people probably get homesick here...]
Is there anything I can do to help? I can listen, if you think talking about it will help any.

It's all things like that; again, nothing to worry about.
